Our current lead product is a targeted radiation therapy for liver cancer called SIR-Spheres® Y-90 resin microspheres. More than 100,000 doses have been supplied to treat patients with liver cancer at more than 1,300 medical centers in over 50 countries.

The Oncology Manager (OM) works in collaboration with the National Sales Manager Belgium, France & Luxembourg, and Key Account Managers in France to focus on developing and implementing area strategies and tactics aligned with the French sales plan. The focus is on market development in the field of oncology, product positioning, market penetration, oncology training, education of oncology physicians and health care practitioners and driving patient referrals for SIR Spheres. The Oncology Manager is a strategic position concentrating, primarily, on Key Accounts and Area Key Opinion Leaders to help drive penetration of SIR-Spheres® microspheres.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with NSM and KAMs to develop and execute shared KOL and Key Account plans to drive additional patient referrals for SIR Spheres
  • Works directly with sales and marketing to execute strategies to develop the oncology marketplace in a pre-defined area
  • Responsible for executing Area strategy for Medical Oncology/Digestive Oncology, Liver surgery, & Hepatology, initiatives and establishing talk tracks as they evolve
  • Develops plans and executes key programs and strategies to educate oncologists, increase awareness of SIR-Spheres microspheres and impact referral patterns
  • Responsible for all Sirtex Speaker training in assigned geography as well as identifying & developing new Speakers as appropriate.
  • Responsible for Quarterly goals that are set and agreed with the NSM &
  • Responsible for Oncology training at SIR Spheres “Centers of Education” accounts as appropriate for geography
  • Responsible for understanding and reporting on key developments in liver-directed treatment space that may impact referral patterns and the overall business
  • Actively manages pre-determined budget in conjunction with the NSM
  • Participates and helps to shape French training as it pertains to oncology
  • Establish appropriate sales development activities plan
  • Understands all current relevant clinical data and helps to educate the sales team as well as physicians
  • Undergo all formal Training Events as may be Directed from time-to-time
  • Observe and Comply with all Sirtex Corporate Policies
  • Work within, and ensure adherence to Quality System procedures, work instructions and other Quality System requirements.
  • Work within, and ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment Management System procedures, instructions, and other requirements

Educational Prerequisites and Skill Requirements

  • University degree in medical or natural sciences is required
  • Minimum 7+ years in medical area (pharmaceutical/biotech/device)
  • Digestive Oncology background required including existing relationships with a national network of target oncology customers including KOL’s
  • Comfortable in a small company environment
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, driven individual
  • Consistent top performer
  • As this function integrates with commercial operation at account level, being strong team player with good interpersonal skills is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
