The role

The Associate Medical Director is an expert in SIR-Spheres microspheres and all other products marketed by Sirtex globally. The Associate Medical Director is required to possess a thorough knowledge of all aspects of SIR-Spheres microspheres and thus be able to: 1) educate Sirtex employees and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. licensees and distributors) in the product's appropriate use; and  2) provide practical medical and clinical expertise and advice on the optimal integration of SIR-Spheres microspheres into multi-modality cancer care. This position requires a thorough knowledge of Sirtex's medical, clinical development and R&D programs, as well as the competitive landscape. This position requires the ability to successfully influence Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to use, support and promote Sirtex's products, with the objective to achieve or exceed Sirtex's growth targets. This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain and co-ordinate all administration of TEC programs including maintaining proctor list
  • Prescribe activity calculations for SIR-Spheres microspheres using the BSA method (SMAC) and Partition model dosimetry training to hospitals
  • Provide support in setting up new SIRT centres including delivery box set-up
  • Organise quarterly Medico Marketing meeting with the Sales & Marketing Team
  • Organise yearly proctor meeting
  • Act as a Proctor of SIR-Spheres microspheres cases for new users; assist during SIR-Spheres microspheres implantation procedure
  • Provide support to Sales & Marketing and Clinical Operations teams, Interventional Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Hepatologists, Technicians, Nurses and other hospital staff
  • Interact with and maintain business relationships with KOLs
  • Lead interactions with external scientific and clinical experts
  • Lead medical review of promotional and payer materials including physician directed materials, patient directed materials and website related content
  • Interpret clinical study and safety data on SIR-Spheres microspheres

Requirements

  • MBBS, MD or equivalent qualification is mandatory
  • Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience is required (Oncology, Radiology, Surgery preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years industry experience is required (Oncology commercial experience preferred)
  • Post-graduate degree, e.g. PhD, MBA, other business degree is preferred
  • Experience in conducting and interpreting clinical studies is preferred
  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills
  • Must demonstrate willingness to work within both a cross-functional team of internal peers and a multi-disciplinary team of external experts
